Bushmaster Bravo Zulu 300BLK Complete Upper Assembly

August 21, 2024 2 min read

Bushmaster has decided to throw its hat in the ring with the release of the Bravo Zulu 11.5” 300BLK complete upper receiver assembly. With ammunition available starting at 110gr through 220gr subsonic, 300BLK has emerged over the years as a versatile cartridge, popular amongst shooters, especially in short-barreled and suppressed applications. While the entry into this cartridge comes a little late in the game, any addition from Bushmaster is always a welcome contribution.

Construction

The Bravo Zulu 300BLK begins with a forged 7075-T6 aluminum precision machined upper receiver, ensuring proper fit with Mil-Spec AR-15 lower receivers, parts, and accessories. Mated to an 8620 steel salt bath nitride finished bolt carrier group and Mil-Spec charging handle, the no-frills setup is focused on providing smooth and reliable operation without any gimmicks.

With M4 feed ramps ensuring reliable feeding, Bushmaster elected to go with an 11.5” barrel, maximizing terminal performance at extended range. The 5/8×24 threaded business end of the 4150 CMV barrel is topped with a Bushmaster Snake Charmer 2-port muzzle brake. The Upper receiver group comes equipped with a BFI 10″ 7-sided M-LOK handguard, maintaining a slender profile while providing plenty of space for mounting lights, lasers, forward grips, and any other accessories I haven’t thought of.
